Microsoft Quietly Releases Surface Book 2 Model

The new Surface Book 2 model is a great way to get your hands on the latest Windows 10 operating system. The company’s Fall Creators Update is the most polished and slick version yet, with many valuable gestures and excellent stylus support.

The refreshed “Surface Book 2” will start at $1,499 and come with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.

This is a significant upgrade to the previous entry-level model, which had a slightly less powerful dual-core seventh-generation Intel processor priced at $1,499.

A new 8th Gen quad-core i5 processor replaces this device’s older 7th Gen dual-core i5 processor and should help boost performance. This is especially helpful for Ultrabooks for CPU-intensive tasks like CAD, video and photo rendering, 3D modeling, and engineering applications.

Microsoft will also include four different power profiles in this device to manage how much battery you use at any given time. These power profiles range from battery-sipping to full performance and impact your performance and battery life.

With all this in mind, I spent a lot of time with Surface Book 2 over several days and had a chance to test it in various situations.

I was surprised at how quickly the machine ran. In addition, I was impressed with its power; the battery lasted a long time on a single charge.

The screen on this machine is a joy to watch, and I liked that it can switch between 4K and Full HD. That’s a significant improvement over the previous generation Surface Book, and it’s one of the best laptop screens I’ve ever seen.

Another upgrade to this model is that it includes a GPU, which is a graphics processing unit specifically built for gaming. This will let you run more demanding games on the laptop if that’s your thing.

This makes the Surface Book 2 an excellent choice for gamers who want to take their PC gaming experience with them anywhere. The only issue is that it lacks Thunderbolt 3 ports, essential for connecting to external monitors and powering other high-end peripherals.

The Surface Book 2 is a perfect laptop for any power user looking for a portable workstation capable of gaming, and it’s a worthy competitor to Apple’s MacBook Pro line. But it’s also a reach for some people, with the 1TB model costing slightly more than Apple’s highest-end machine.
